Wensley’s Traditional Fine Fayre
Wensley’s was set up in 2004 by Tony Wensley. Tony used to work as the bakery manager at the renowned ‘Olde Pork Pie Shoppe’, one of the oldest and most prestigious bakeries in Melton Mowbray, England.
His love for Traditional British food migrated with him to Australia. Now the Long Yard Larder – and you – can enjoy high quality English Food in Brisbane.

Sounds Like Your Typical English Food, Ay’ Gov-na?
Some examples of the Wensley’s range of fine English Fayre that we stock include their range of traditional pies, such as pork pie, guinness pie or chicken and mushroom pie. We also offer their cheese and onion pastie, or a cornish pastie. All of these foods are available to enjoy freshly baked at The Long Yard Larder or you can order them to take home and bake anytime.
If you’re in the mood for something sweeter, you can also try a Cherry Bakewell, made from sweet almond sponge, jam and fondant icing. Or try an Eccles Cake, a beautiful pastry filled with currants, butter and spices.
Blimey! True English Delights!
Trying food from other countries is a great way to experience culture from across the world. If you bite into one of our range of British pies, you’ll find them full of subtle differences and pleasant surprises. It may even change the way you look at your favourite Australian food!
This is also ideal for anyone who used to live in the UK – or anyone who travelled there once as a tourist – and finds themselves missing their old home. You can enjoy tasting your sweet British delicacies, close your eyes, and pretend you’re back in the bustling town of Glasgow or out exploring the wild Scottish moors.
